The primary function of a police chaplain is to provide personal support for members of the Department and their families. A secondary function is to assist officers in meeting citizen’s needs and those of other police agencies.
The Chaplaincy Program is more than just an employee assistance program. Chaplains exercise a positive “ministry of presence” by personally visiting members of the department on their job sites, attending training sessions, and organizational functions. In addition, the chaplain may respond to death notifications, accidents, crime scenes, traumatic situations, and hospital rooms when invited to do so.
At the current time, the police chaplin position is vacant and the department is seeking to fill this position. All interested parties should contact Chief Mork.
