The Municipal Electric Cooperative has been around since 1890. The main purpose of the Plant is the operation and maintenance of the combustion turbine, all substation maintenance of the three 20 MW substations. These substations are the Sweazey Sub - located east of the light plant, Passwaters Sub - located at the south end of Bicentennial Court and the Bowman Sub - located in the west part of the town. Our electricity is obtained from Corn Belt Power Cooperative.
The Meter Department performs all single phase and three phase electric meter testing. This department is also responsible for the upkeep and relamping of the traffic signals in Webster City. |
